as require further elucidation.
(1) Intelligence.
A copy of the record of hips engaged in
illicit liquor traffic will be supplied to the Colonial Secretary of the Bahamas, and it will be the duty of this officer to inform the United States Coverment,
through the American Consul in Nassau, of any necessary
modifications of the list which may come to his
knowledge.
(3) Special liaison in London.
Arrangements similar to those contemplated
in this section of the Report should be made between the appropriate officers of the sahamns Government (acting throw the Colonial Secretary) and the American
Consul in Nassau. In this connection I enclose a copy
of a letter of the 5th August from the Board of Trade setting out in fuller detail the type of information which it is anticipated will fall to be dealt with
under this section. You will no doubt instruct the
Registrar of Shipping in the Bahamas to comply with the
proposals made in the Beard's lotter.
(4) Prosecutions.
From your confidential telegram of the 22nd
of July, sent in reply to my telegraphic en uiry of
July 20th, 1 rather that instances are not infrequent in which the laws of the Colony are infringed by persons
engaged in the illicit liquor traffic. 1 small rely upon you to ensure that, where adequate evidence is found to exist, prosecutions against such offenders are
instituted in the local Courts. In this connection,
